Labor Support

Ahavah Doula recognizes birth as a key life experience and assist women and families to prepare and carry out thier plans for birth.  Ahavah Doulas are used for all types of births: Inductions, Planned medicated births, Natural births (no medication), VBAC births (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean), Multiple births, as well as Scheduled Cesarean Sections. As your Labor Doula we provide:

  • 24/7 access for any questions and support to include text, skype, or e-mail throughout pregnancy
  • 2 accompanied prenatal visits to your midwife/dr.  
  • A birth plan consultation session to create and discuss your birth vision 
  • Attendance to our childbirth education and birth partner preparedness class for fathers.
  • Attendance to our Blessingway dinner to be honored as your birth nears.
  • Informational, physical, emotional support, and comfort techniques during labor. 
  • We stay at your side throughout the whole birth experience. 
  • Assist when the mother is dealing with a difficult labor by suggesting labor coping strategies.
  • Support the father while he supports the mother.
  • Assist with the initiation of breastfeeding after the baby is born
  • Work as a team with the mother's partner, nurses, and clinical providers.

Ahavah Doulas do not perform any type of clinical skills, medical proceedures. or take the place of your medical care provider.

Rates and Fees

I provide labor doula services in the Mercer, Somerset, and Burlington Counties.  The rates in this area average between $350 and $1000 based on certification and experience. My fee is a flat $800 to $1000 and covers all aspects of our services. The contract that we sign has more details. I do believe that all women deserve labor support and offer variouse payment plan options if necessesary,
